Chief Marketing Officer, LatAm nearshore
Hands-on and remote. Your patch is nearshore software companies in Latin America selling to the US, and you take 30% of the revenue from every new customer in it, from their first invoice.
Write to [email protected]. Two things go in the first message, and they are at the foot of this page.
One patch of nine. Each has its own person and its own page; this one is yours to read. You have it because it was sent to you.
- The patch
- Nearshore software companies in Latin America selling to the US, 20 to 300 people.
- Days 1 to 90
- No salary. You get 30% of the revenue from every new customer, from their first invoice.
- Whose customers
- The 30% is on new customers from your patch. Every other patch has its own person.
- Day 90
- We look at the numbers together. If they are there it becomes official: salary and equity, and the 30% rolls into that.
- If we part ways
- The 30% on every customer you brought in keeps paying for six months. Nothing else is owed either way.
- Your time
- Everyone here has other income and puts in their own time. We expect the same from you. We all go full-time when the pace justifies it.
- Budget
- Tools only. Marketing spend comes out of revenue, so the first ninety days run on channels that cost time.
- The team
- There is no marketing team to inherit. You build the machine yourself.
- Location
- Remote. US overlap.
1What we sell
SignalsAPI watches hiring activity in real time.
A software company tells us which companies it wants as clients, say US product companies of 50 to 500 people, and which roles it can staff from its bench or hire for, say backend, mobile, data. When one of those companies opens one of those roles, the sales team has it in the CRM or inbox, with the hiring manager attached, and pitches an engineer or a team while the role is still fresh, manually or automatically.
Staff augmentation, dedicated teams, project work: the same trigger. The trigger is the role being advertised, so the work this feeds is the work that starts with a role a US company has opened.
2Proof
This is already selling, and you would be joining customers rather than a deck.
- 2023
- Selling since
- 20
- Customers: ten on retainer, ten more since it became SaaS
- 23%
- Of first-demo attendees become paying customers
- 1M+
- Hiring signals a month, filtered to each client's criteria
Most of the first ten retainer clients were software development outsourcing companies. That segment is where the product started. The ten customers since, the ones who came once it became SaaS, are mostly recruitment agencies.
The market this patch sells into is covered. Your buyers chase US clients, and US and Canada is one of the seven regions already tracked, so this patch sells something that already runs rather than something promised.
The integrations exist. The major CRMs, the main outbound platforms, and company and contact data providers.
Nobody owns this globally. Competitors are small and single-country; we run in every market. Bootstrapped, no outside money, and not raising.
3The job
Conversion is not the problem. Reach is.
Cold outreach, free demos, free setup with billing that starts once results show: all of it converts. What we do not have is a repeatable, scalable way to bring new customers in. That is the job.
What it comes down to. Get SignalsAPI in front of the people who have a reason to care, and get them to the free stuff: a demo, ten free signals, a free setup. From there our numbers take over.
The number we watch is companies in the profile below who book a demo or claim their free signals. We set the 90-day target with you in week one, rather than handing you one now.
4Who has a reason to care
Founders and heads of sales at nearshore software and staff augmentation companies of 20 to 300 people.
The ones hunting new logos, not the ones living off two anchor clients.
Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica and Uruguay. All of them selling to the US, which is where the hiring this product watches happens.
5Whether this is you
Someone who already knows how these founders think and how they win US clients.
- You have sold nearshore from Latin America to US buyers, founded a shop, or sold to those founders.
- You know the nearshoring circuit and which LinkedIn voices US-facing founders read.
- You know how these founders think about Clutch, referrals and US-based sales reps.
Spanish or Portuguese plus English. A requirement, not a preference: the founders are approached in their own language, and the market they sell into is American.
We will not tell you where their attention is. You should already know. That is the whole reason the patch is a person rather than a campaign.
What disqualifies you is needing a salary from us in the first ninety days. Nothing here pays until a customer does, which is survivable only because something else covers your overhead.
How to apply
Confirm the terms, then answer one question.
- The terms. Confirm the ones at the top of this page work for you, as written.
- The question. How would you get the attention of the founders who have a reason to care about SignalsAPI, and how far does that scale in the first ninety days?
A few lines is plenty, and no CV is needed for the first reply. If what you have is a question rather than an answer, send that.
Write to [email protected] so the thread stays in one place.
