Chief Marketing Officer, US and Canada
Hands-on and remote. Your patch is search and professional staffing firms in the US and Canada, 5 to 100 people, and you take 30% of the revenue from every new customer in it, from their first invoice.
Write to [email protected]. Two things go in the first message, and they are at the foot of this page.
One patch of nine. Each has its own person and its own page; this one is yours to read. You have it because it was sent to you.
- The patch
- Search and professional staffing firms in the US and Canada, 5 to 100 people.
- Days 1 to 90
- No salary. You get 30% of the revenue from every new customer, from their first invoice.
- Whose customers
- The 30% is on new customers from your patch. Every other patch has its own person.
- Day 90
- We look at the numbers together. If they are there it becomes official: salary and equity, and the 30% rolls into that.
- If we part ways
- The 30% on every customer you brought in keeps paying for six months. Nothing else is owed either way.
- Your time
- Everyone here has other income and puts in their own time. We expect the same from you. We all go full-time when the pace justifies it.
- Budget
- Tools only. Marketing spend comes out of revenue, so the first ninety days run on channels that cost time.
- The team
- There is no marketing team to inherit. You build the machine yourself.
- Location
- Remote. US time zone.
1What we sell
SignalsAPI watches hiring activity in real time.
A search or staffing firm tells us which companies it wants as clients and which job orders it fills. When one of those companies opens one of those jobs, the recruiter has it in their ATS, inbox or sequencer, with the hiring manager attached, and pitches while the req is still fresh, manually or automatically.
Direct hire or contract, any skill set where the client posts the job. The trigger is the posting going up, which is why the desks it does not serve are the ones whose orders never appear as one.
2Proof
This is already selling, and you would be joining customers rather than a deck.
- 2023
- Selling since
- 20
- Customers: ten on retainer plus success fees, ten more since it became SaaS
- 23%
- Of first-demo attendees become paying customers
- 1M+
- Hiring signals a month, filtered to each client's criteria
Coverage here is live. US and Canada is one of the seven regions already tracked, so this patch sells something that already runs rather than something promised.
The integrations exist. The major CRMs, the main outbound platforms, and company and contact data providers.
Nobody owns this globally. Competitors are small and single-country; we run in every market. Bootstrapped, no outside money, and not raising.
3The job
Conversion is not the problem. Reach is.
Cold outreach, free demos, free setup with billing that starts once results show: all of it converts. What we do not have is a repeatable, scalable way to bring new customers in. That is the job.
What it comes down to. Get SignalsAPI in front of the people who have a reason to care, and get them to the free stuff: a demo, ten free signals, a free setup. From there our numbers take over.
The number we watch is firms in the profile below who book a demo or claim their free signals. We set the 90-day target with you in week one, rather than handing you one now.
4Who has a reason to care
Owners and sales leads at search and professional staffing firms of 5 to 100 people.
IT, finance and accounting, engineering, sales, legal, and any other desk where the client posts the job. The ones landing job orders, not the ones filling a VMS feed.
Not healthcare, not light industrial. Those orders come through an MSP or a phone call, never a public posting, so the signal we sell has nothing to tell them. Ruling them out is most of the targeting.
5Whether this is you
Someone who already knows how US staffing owners think and how they land job orders.
- You have sold staffing, run a full desk, owned a firm, or sold to the owners.
- You know ASA, SIA, TechServe and NAPS, and the Bullhorn Engage crowd.
- You know which podcasts and LinkedIn voices owners actually listen to.
We will not tell you where their attention is. You should already know. That is the whole reason the patch is a person rather than a campaign.
What disqualifies you is needing a salary from us in the first ninety days. Nothing here pays until a customer does, which is survivable only because something else covers your overhead.
How to apply
Confirm the terms, then answer one question.
- The terms. Confirm the ones at the top of this page work for you, as written.
- The question. How would you get the attention of the staffing owners who have a reason to care about SignalsAPI, and how far does that scale in the first ninety days?
A few lines is plenty, and no resume is needed for the first reply. If what you have is a question rather than an answer, send that.
Write to [email protected] so the thread stays in one place.
