Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
1. Agreement
SignalsAPI is a trading name of Deal Baker Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 14906367, whose registered office is at International House, 64 Nile Street, London, United Kingdom, N1 7SR ("SignalsAPI", "we", "us", "our"). Deal Baker Ltd is the party you contract with under these Terms. Full company details are on our imprint.
By accessing or using SignalsAPI ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.
2. Services and scope
These Terms cover more than one service. "The Service" means all of them together; where a clause names a specific service, it governs that service only and is not a commitment about the others.
- Agency Delivery Service — hiring signals enriched with decision-maker contact details and delivered into your CRM, your outbound tool, or our dashboard. This is the service described on our website and the one most customers contract for.
- Hiring-Motion Data Plane — the API resources declared through our serialization boundary and documented at GET /v1/compliance. It serves data sourced from applicant tracking systems and public job-board postings only.
- UPdata person search — the person-record search API at updata.signalsapi.com, contracted and billed separately. It returns person-level personal data, including LinkedIn-derived fields, by design. Where you hold a separate agreement covering UPdata, that agreement governs your use of it.
Agency Delivery Service. SignalsAPI provides real-time hiring intelligence for recruitment agencies. We monitor publicly available data sources to detect hiring signals, enrich them with decision-maker contact information, and deliver them to your tools via integrations or our dashboard.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
4. Free setup and billing
Setup, configuration, and onboarding are always free. Signals are delivered before billing begins. Billing starts only when you confirm you are satisfied with the service. Plans and pricing are as agreed during your onboarding call.
- Invoices are issued monthly
- Payment is due within 14 days of invoice date
- You may cancel at any time with 30 days written notice
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, including data protection regulations. You may not:
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense signal data to third parties
- Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk communications in violation of anti-spam laws
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service beyond your authorized access
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation
6. Data and privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. Signal data contains publicly available business information. You are responsible for using delivered data in compliance with applicable data protection laws in your jurisdiction.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, algorithms, design, and documentation, is owned by SignalsAPI. You retain ownership of your configuration data, filters, and any content you create within the Service.
8. Service availability
We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
9. Data accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to ensure signal accuracy by cross-referencing multiple sources. However, we do not guarantee that all data will be accurate, complete, or current. You acknowledge that hiring signals reflect publicly available information that may change. This clause is about the accuracy of data; it does not qualify the warranty in clause 10, which is about which sources the Hiring-Motion Data Plane draws on and which categories of data it does not return.
10. Data provenance warranty
In this clause, "Provider" means Deal Baker Ltd trading as SignalsAPI, and "Customer" means you.
Data provenance warranty. Provider warrants that the Hiring-Motion Data Plane (the API resources declared through the serialization boundary at signals/services/plane_serializers.py, as served by the /v1 endpoints documented at GET /v1/compliance) returns no LinkedIn-derived field and no person-level personal data. This warranty is given for the Hiring-Motion Data Plane only and does not extend to Provider's other products, which are contracted separately and which do return person-level personal data. Breach entitles Customer to terminate immediately and to a refund of fees paid for the affected billing period, subject to the aggregate cap at clause 11.
The machine-readable form of this guarantee is served, without an API key, at GET /v1/compliance, so you can check it for yourself at any time.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SignalsAPI's total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days written notice. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your access to the dashboard and signal delivery will cease. You may request export of your data within 30 days of termination.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
